It Was 2016 in Cleveland...

2016 was an exciting year in Cleveland! The Cavs won the NBA championship with a sensational comeback against seemingly impossible odds. The Indians went on a wild run and came within a rain delay of winning the World Series for the first time since 1948. The Lake Erie Monsters won the AHL Calder Cup. And local firefighter Stipe Miocic won, and defended, the UFC heavyweight championship title. C-Town was on top of the world! For a sports lover like me with a lot of pride for my city, this was a good year to be a Clevelander. Little did I know things were just getting started.

The Vision

Ten years ago, I had a vision. After being in the event industry for five years working for someone else, the idea of just being good enough wasn’t good enough any more. The people that trusted us with the biggest days of their lives deserved better. They deserved the best they could get. I realized in order to do that I had to break free and go out on my own. I needed to start my own business, build my own vision, have higher standards, and continue raising the bar for what people should expect from a wedding DJ. Ten years ago today, I created C-Town Entertainment. 

What Matters To Us

Sometimes there is a misconception, or a stereotype about wedding DJs. I didn’t want to have that cheesy used car salesman voice. I didn’t want to become a "bro" with an ego that barely fits through the door who just wants to play “face melters” too loud all night long. Playing a character isn't my style. I wanted to be authentic. I wanted to be me.

It’s not just about “playing bangers” or having bright lights flashing randomly, or yelling names when someone walks into a room. It became about curating an entire experience, eliciting emotions with our words, changing an atmosphere with intelligently designed lighting, learning about our clients in detail to bring to life the vision they have of their big day. It’s never about us. We build an environment for people to relax and enjoy themselves. We help make memories to last a lifetime by celebrating two people joining their lives together. 

The Announcement

I didn’t know much about running a business, and I was learning everything on the fly. But I was so excited to get things started. I wanted to tell the world, and the following was my big announcement:

“Today I am taking a big step in both my personal and professional lives. It comes with risk, but when one is willing to take great risks, that is when the opportunity for great rewards presents itself. I have decided to go into business for myself and start my own DJ and entertainment company. As of today, April 7, 2016, I am announcing the start of C-Town Entertainment! 

Having great pride in my city, I wanted to incorporate Cleveland in the name of my business in some way. From the mouth of the Cuyahoga, to the outskirts of the suburbs, we live, work hard, and play in this great region. We all have a reason to be proud of it! We celebrate each other's success. We help pick each other up if we happen to fall. Each and every one of us contributes to make C-Town what it is!

Thank you very much for your past, and hopefully continued support as I move forward in my endeavors to bring you the best possible entertainment that I am capable of. Whether you and I have been friends for years, or only know each other from one time at a wedding, party, DJ, trivia, or karaoke event I've hosted, you are part of the path that has brought me to this point in my journey. I am very grateful for that. We are all in this together. We are all part of what makes this city great! WE ARE C-TOWN!”

Looking Back With Gratitude

Reflecting back, I had no idea how amazing things would be ten years into this. I took that risk, and the great rewards really did come to follow. A team was built, and I’m so proud of what we have accomplished in these ten years. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. Gratitude doesn’t even begin to describe what I feel toward all of you that have helped make C-Town what it is today.

To my amazing team, thank you for all of the hard work and the late nights you have put in. For all of our regular trivia teams, of all the things you could do to bring a little fun to your weekly routine, thank you for choosing to spend some time with us. To all our past and current wedding clients, thank you from the bottom of my heart for recognizing the passion we have for this, and trusting us to play such an important role on the biggest day of your lives.

From 2016 To 2026

This has been absolutely surreal. Over the past decade, we have been in hundreds of venues in the Cleveland and surrounding area, and performed at hundreds and hundreds of wedding receptions. I truly love what I do! It is the best job in the world! Being surrounded by so much love and positive energy every weekend, playing such an important role on the biggest day of two people’s lives, and getting to listen to awesome music the entire time is such a rewarding experience. It takes a lot of hard work, but rarely does it ever feel like work. I’m so proud of what we have built. It’s been an amazing ride so far to this point, and I can’t wait to see where else this journey takes us. Here’s to many more years of striving for excellence; to being the best wedding DJs in Cleveland! 

C-Town Has A New Logo!

To celebrate this big milestone, and to better represent this great city of Cleveland, we have updated our logo to include the new Sherwin Williams building in the skyline.
